Tiger Woods' win at PLAYERS solidified winning PGA Tour Player of the YearTiger Woods’ 2013 performance, including 5 wins and 8 top 10 finishes, was enough to earn him his 11th PGA Tour player of the year award – an honor he hasn’t achieved since 2009. The award, primarily backed by his win at the PLAYERS, marks another huge step in the right direction since his 2010-11 slump years and, in my opinion, is the final plateau before winning a major. In other words, I’m calling Tiger winning the 2014 Masters right now.

There was some talk about Adam Scott or Phil Mickelson being other choices, but really that was just to create conversation. Mickelson has never won the award and this 2013 performance may have been his last chance. I don’t think he has many multi-win years left on Tour and that’s what it takes. Both Lefty and Adam Scott had a major and a win, and while the majors count…
